A 16-year-old St. Joseph girl was transported to the St. Cloud Hospital after crashing her minivan while trying to avoid hitting a deer.

The crash happened on County Road 75, just west of County Road 134 in St. Joseph Township. The 16-year-old lost control of her car and went into the median. The van became airborne after hitting an embankment of a turnaround and landed further east in the median.

St. Joseph Fire and Rescue treated her at the scene before she was transported to the St. Cloud Hospital. The crash is being investigated by the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office.
