Archived: A Gas Spill In Holdingford Shuts Down Street

A gas spill in Holdingford temporarily shut down a street Tuesday afternoon.

Stearns County Sheriff Don Gudmundson says a gas spill at 211 River Street in Holdingford was caused by a trailer hitting a gas pump. 30-year-old Darrin Gorka of Long Prairie, and his passenger 33-year-old Holly Kotzer of Bowlus, were pulling out of the gas station when the trailer hit the pump, leaking gasoline.

The leak was eventually stopped and River Street was closed for about 30 minutes. Gorka received a citation from the accident.
