County Road 2 closed for most Wednesday afternoon while Stearns County officials and the Minnesota State Patrol investigated a collision between a semi and a pickup at the intersection of County Road 2 and Minnesota Street West in St. Joseph township.
Stearns County Sheriff John Sanner says, a semi hauling several large propane tanks was traveling northbound on County Road 2 Wednesday morning when it collided into a pickup that was west on Minnesota Street West and attempting to turn south onto County Road 2.
Sanner says none of the propane tanks leaked as Minnesota Hazmat assisted at the scene.
St. Joseph Fire and Rescue staff extricated the driver of the pickup, 48-year-old Lee Meyer of Rice from the vehicle. He was taken by ambulance to the St. Cloud hospital.
The driver of the semi, 29-year-old Anthony Bruemmer of Sartell, was treated at the scene.
Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts.
