Archived: Air Pollution Health Alert Issued Across The Area Until Friday Evening

Kids, the elderly, people with a history of heart and lung problems and asthma should avoid being outside this afternoon as an air pollution health alert is an effect until this evening.

According to SCSU Meteorology professor Bob Weisman, this advisory covers the eastern two-thirds of the state including areas of Brainerd, St. Cloud, the Twin Cities.

Weisman explains that the cold front that arrived this morning has air particles producing air-quality indices above 100. Those that suffer from heart or lung problems are advised to stay inside until the winds pick up and blow cleaner air into the region.
