More than 100 students from St. Cloud Tech High School, Cathedral High School and North Junior High will participate in the launch celebration of We-Act Minnesota.

We-Act Minnesota aims to initiate youth to be civically engaged. The launch celebration, called We-Day, will take place at Patrick Henry High School in Minneapolis on Wednesday. The event kicks-off a yearlong series of service actions as a part of We-Act.

According to school officials, fifteen thousand to twenty thousand youth are involved in We-Act.

We-Act Minnesota is a program organized by the Canadian organization Free the Children.

Tech High School first became involved with the program in March 2011. Since then, they have raised money and volunteered at local food shelves, prepared meals on Thanksgiving Day, and volunteered with the Salvation Army.
