Arrest Made in Beaver Island Trails Incident

St. Cloud Police have arrested a man who is believed to be connected to an incident that occurred at Beaver Island Trails on Monday. Deq Ahmed Mumen, a 23-year-old St. Cloud resident, has been taken into custody on charges of false imprisonment and fifth degree assault.
According to police, an 18-year-old St. Cloud woman was walking on the shoreline of the Mississippi River on Monday when a Somali male approached her, grabbed her arm and told her that he loved her. Police had been on the lookout for the man when officers were advised that an individual who fit the description of the suspect was riding a bicycle near Beaver Island Trails and Q-Lot on the SCSU Campus around 3:40 P.M. on Tuesday.
Police were able to make contact with this individual who they identified as Mumen, and later took him into custody.
