Attempted Robbery and Stabbing in Cashwise Parking Lot

Waite Park Police arrested 3 juveniles after a 14-year-old boy was stabbed trying to stop the theft of his bike. It happened just after 9:00 Saturday night at Cashwise Foods on Waite Avenue South, where a witness had called 9-1-1. The suspects had fled, but police found them within minutes. Two were at Best Buy and the other near the Super 8 Motel in St. Cloud.
Police say a struggle ensued as one of the suspects tried to take the victim’s bike… and the suspect stabbed the victim in the torso with a knife. The 14-year-old victim was taken to the St. Cloud Hospital with non life-threatening injuries. A 17-year-old boy was arrested on first degree aggravated robbery charges and is being held until he appears in court. The other suspects were released to their parents.
