Archived: Benton County Probation Hearing Turns Into Struggle

A routine probation violation hearing took an interesting twist Thursday. Benton County Bailiffs and Deputies were called to respond to an incident at 11:10 a.m. in the Benton County Courts Facility.

There 36-year-old Dontae Marcus Frazier of Brooklyn Park was sentenced to 86 months in prison for a probation violation. When the courtroom bailiff attempted to take Frazier into custody, Frazier took off running.

He was stopped in the hallway of the court building by bailiffs and Benton County Attorney Phil Miller. Frazier continued to struggle until he was tasered.

Frazier was taken into custody and is currently being held at the Benton County Jail until he will be transported to prison for his probation violation.

He is also facing pending charges of escape from custody and 4th degree assault.
