Big Lake Businessman Facing Sales Taxes Evasion Charges
09/13/2017 - 12:00 PM
A Big Lake man is facing charges for 17 related felonies after he continued making sales after his sales tax permit was revoked.
The Minnesota Department of Revenue says Mark Miller failed to file sales tax returns for his business, JC’s Body Shop, for three years between 2013 and 2016. Miller admitted to the department that he was using the collected sales tax for business expenses instead of sending the money to the state.
Miller allegedly owes that state more than $100,000, not including penalties and interest. Miller also faces five years in prison, and a possible ten thousand dollar fine for every charge against him.
