Archived: Bob Weisman SCSU Meteorology Professor Says St. Cloud Is Under Red Flag Warning

The National Weather Service has issued a red flag warning for the city of St. Cloud today.

St. Cloud State University’s meteorology professor Bob Weisman says we will be under the highest category of fire from noon to 8:00 p.m. The advisory covers the northern half of Minnesota along the western part of Wisconsin. He says humidity is not as strong as it was yesterday, but dry and humid conditions with winds gusting in the range of 70s would create a high risk of wildfire with any spark.

Weisman says we will have a warm weather during the rest of the week, but forecasters are not sure of their predictions for the weekend. He adds it is warm season severe weather awareness week in Minnesota.
