A car crash Wednesday morning on County Road 39 left two people hospitalized.

Stearns County Sheriff John Sanner says 43-year-old Jerry Toeben of Sartell was driving northbound on 260th Avenue when he ran the stop sign and was hit by a car driven by 20-year-old Brittany Wolbeck of Albany.

Sanner adds both vehicles skidded into the ditch and Wolbeck’s car flipped and came to a stop on its roof.

Toeben was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash and was thrown from his pickup.

Both drivers were brought to Melrose Hospital but were later taken to the St. Cloud Hospital for further treatment of injuries.

The accident remains under investigation.
