Archived: Dairyland Trail Grand Opening This Saturday

A grand opening celebration is planned for the Stearns County Dairyland Trail this Saturday, April 27th at 9 a.m.

In addition to the ribbon cutting ceremony, there will be a 1K and 5K walk/run taking place on the trail.  The 1K walk/run will begin at 9:15 a.m. and the cost is $12 per person.  The 5K will begin at 9:35 a.m. and the cost is $20 per person.  A limited number of t-shirts will be given to walkers and runners on a first come-first served basis.  There will be prizes for the top male and female finishers in six age categories.  All 1K participants will receive a prize.

This grand opening is for phase one of the Dairyland Trail, which will ultimately run through western Stearns County from Albany through New Munich, Greenwald and Elrosa to Brooten.

Beverages and munchies will be provided at the grand opening and registration can be done for the 1K/5K the day of the event or online.

Attendees are asked to park at the Dairyland Trail parking lot accross from the Greenwald Pub.
