Two people were hospitalized after a crash Friday morning.

Stearns County Sheriff John Sanner says 31-year-old Sadie Stommes of Avon was driving east on County Road 75. She was turning north onto County Road 134 just before 7 a.m. when she was hit by another driver.

Lawanza Montgomery, 22, of St. Paul was driving his jeep west when he struck Stommes’ car. Then, he ran on foot from the accident.

St. Joseph Police found Montgomery near the American Burger Bar in St. Joseph.

Both drivers were taken to the St. Cloud Hospital by ambulance.

Deputies are now investigating the cause of the crash.
