Early Morning Storm Knocks Down Multiple Trees

The St. Cloud Police, Fire and Street Departments are currently working to address the damage caused by the severe storms that hit the St. Cloud area earlier this [Friday] morning.
According to the St. Cloud Police Department there are numerous trees down throughout the city, as well as damaged power lines and down traffic lights. The public is asked to be extremely cautious of these hazards and are being asked not to call the St. Cloud Police Department for updates or for non-emergency and hazard issues due to the storm damage.
According to SCSU Meteorology Professor Bob Weisman, the St. Cloud Airport estimated that St. Cloud received about .96 inches of rain. However, Weisman measured 2.19 inches at SCSU, and 3.75 inches of rain at the north end of Little Rock Lake. According to Weisman, there will be another round of showers and thunderstorms later today.
These storms will maintain their strength, or intensify as the night progresses. These storms could produce straight line wind damage, large hail and heavy rainfall. This pattern will repeat itself again on Saturday night.
