Emergency Personnel Called To Motor Vehicle And Pedestrian Accident

On Thursday afternoon emergency personnel were called to the intersection of 9th Avenue South and 11th Street South for a motor vehicle and pedestrian accident.
According to the police report, 18-year-old Megan Jean Niemela of Cokato was making a left turn onto 9th Avenue when she hit a 12-year-old girl as she was trying to cross 9th Avenue South.
The girl was taken to the emergency room for non-life threatening injuries. Niemela was cited for failure to yield and was released from the scene
