10/01/2012 - 8:30 AM
Early Saturday morning St. Cloud Police were called to a robbery complaint. Upon arriving officers met with a 22-year-old man from St. Cloud who said that he had been assaulted in the 500 block of 1st Street South by two men earlier in the morning.
According to the police report the suspects also took the victim’s keys and cash from his wallet and the victim received minor injuries after he was punched several times in the face by the suspects.
On Sunday police revealed that after reviewing video and re-interviewing the victim they discovered that the robbery did not occur. The victim withdrew his initial complain and information given and he does not recall being threatened or assaulted by anyone. It is also unclear whether his items were taken or lost due to his intoxication level.
