ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - A Circle Pines environmental activist says she'll seek the Democratic endorsement to run for Congress in Minnesota's 6th District.
Judy Adams says Monday she will run as a problem solver and political outsider. Adams has never run for office, but says her years of activism helped her understand the political process.
Adams says she's mainly worked on efforts to reduce lead contamination in buildings and soil. She says she currently earns income caring for senior citizens with Alzheimer's Disease.
Democratic candidate Jim Graves dropped out of the race after Republican incumbent Michele Bachmann decided not to run. Republican Tom Emmer is the only declared GOP candidate in the conservative-tilting district but others are considering the race.
Adams says she's unlikely to run in the DFL primary if she can't get the party endorsement.
