Archived: Foley Mother Guilty Of Child Endangerment

FOLEY, Minn. (AP) – A plea agreement calls for a Sauk Rapids woman to spend 30 days in jail for the asphyxiation death of her infant daughter and a positive drug test for her one-year-old child.

26-year-old Nicole McKay has pleaded guilty to child endangerment in the 2013 death of her two-month-old daughter. A medical examiner determined the child suffocated after McKay fell asleep with the infant after doing drugs.

The St. Cloud Times says McKay has also pleaded guilty to leaving drug paraphernalia where her toddler could reach it. The boy later tested positive for meth, heroin and oxycodone.

McKay faces sentencing June 5. The plea agreement calls for sentences in both cases to run consecutively and for McKay to serve 30 days in jail.
