A Paynesville man was sentenced Thursday to ten days in jail for giving alcohol to an underage student.
Stearns County Assistant Chief of the Criminal Division Josh Kannegeiter says Donald Roger Neu, a former chemistry professor, was convicted of a gross misdemeanor for providing alcohol to someone younger than 21-years-old.
The underage girl said that Neu would bring her marijuana and alcohol and that she went to his house in Paynesville repeatedly.
Neu was sentenced to two years of supervised probation after the ten days in jail, and he is required to pay $500 in restitution. If he violates the probation he will serve another 355 days in jail.
