Golf Course Owners Lament Money Lost To Bad Weather
04/25/2013 - 1:10 AM
Add golf course owners to the list of Minnesotans irked by the spring that's never showed up.
The snow, rain and sleet that has dragged well into April means money lost for golf courses. Tim Holthaus, who owns River Oaks Golf Club in Cold Spring, says courses can't make up the money they've lost due to the late opening.
Holthaus told the St. Cloud Times that courses have only about five months to make money with Minnesota's weather, and they've lost that first month.
Mike Stang, who runs Territory Golf Club in St. Cloud, says he's hoping golfers who haven't been able to play will want to play more in June and July.
