Archived: Grand Opening Of Rockville County Park and Nature Preserve

The Stearns County Parks Department will unveil its newest park, the Rockville County Park and Nature Preserve on Tuesday, September 24 at 5:00 p.m.

The Rockville County Park and Nature Preserve covers a total of 284-acres. 194 of those acres were donated by environmental educators Linda and John Peck in 2007.

The park protects 2.8 miles of Bald Eagle nesting habitat along the Sauk River shoreline. The Rockville County Park and Nature Preserve will have walking, biking and equestrian trails, a snowmobile bridge for winter use as well a group campsite available to the public.

The grand opening of the Rockville County Park and Preserve is open to the public and will be held at the main parking area, located at the intersection of Sauk River Road and Glacier Road.
