Archived: Heat Advisory Changed To Excessive Heat Warning

Temperatures in St. Cloud and the southern two-thirds of Minnesota are not expected to cool down through at least Thursday. The National Weather Service has changed Minnesota’s heat advisory to an excessive heat warning. The warning will be in effect until 10 p.m. Thursday.Temperatures for the next few days are expected to be in the low 90s and overnight rain will cause dew points to be back up in the sticky 70s.

Heat is the number-one weather related cause of the death in the U.S. and most of these deaths can be avoided by keeping vulnerable people such as kids, seniors, and people with heart or breathing problems indoors and out of the heat. Kids and pets also should not be left in parked cars.
