09/19/2012 - 10:30 AM
The National Weather Service has issued a fire weather watch and a wind advisory for all of western and parts of central Minnesota. With highs today in the upper 60’s, and wind speeds of 15-30 MPH along with gusts of wind up to 40 MPH combined with a very dry ground making for easily spread of fire, according to meteorology professor Bob Weisman.
Northwest winds between 11 AM and 7 PM will also cause major problems on west-east roadways, with the National Weather Service mentioning that high-profile vehicles on Highways 14, 12, and I-94 will have a difficult afternoon.
