Highway 23 Bridge Dedication

The date has been set for dedicating St. Cloud’s new bridge. The ceremony for the new bridge with the name, Granite City Crossing, is taking place Monday, October 26th at 8 a.m. Everyone is welcome to attend this event in the Kelly Inn parking lot near the bridge. However, this is not the day the bridge will open for vehicles. According to a MnDOT official, the target date is still early November, but the exact date has not been set. The 49 year old DeSoto Bridge was closed in March of 2008 after an inspection found gusset plates problems similar to the cause of the I-35W Bridge collapse in Minneapolis.
