Husky Stadium is upgrading its playing surface this summer by installing 90,000 square feet of new artificial turf. 

Used by the SCSU football and soccer teams, the stadium turf was first instaled in 2004 and has completed its life cycle of 10 years.

Director of Sport Facilities Ron Seibring says the past turf failed its most recent inspection in areas of performance and was also beginning to show unsafe levels. 

The time of completion is expected to be in July.
