Ice-crystal Theorist To Speak At Winter Storm Conference

Ice-crystal Theorist Jon Nelson will be speaking at the Northern Plains Winter Storm Conference at St. Cloud State University. The 7th annual storm conference will be Oct. 22nd at the SCSU Welcome Center. Scholars, educators, forecasters and students gather to discuss how winter storms form and play out on North America’s northern plains.
Nelson is an independent scholar who developed a new theory for ice-crystal growth in clouds. In 2009 Nelson was the co-author of the children’s book The Story of Snow: The Science of Winter’s Wonder.
Registration for the event goes until Oct. 12.
Nelson's presentation will be free and open to the public.
