American Indian Awareness Week Comes To St. Cloud State

The first week in April is American Indian Awareness week.

St. Cloud State University, St. Cloud Technical and Community College, and District 742 are presenting speakers, workshops and more to bring awareness into the spotlight.

Everyday from April 3-8 there will be events to celebrate American Indian culture such as the presentation "Why Treaties Matter" on April 5 in the Alumni Room in Atwood Memorial Center. "Powwow 101" will be at 12:30 in the Cascade Room, also in Atwood. 

On April 8 the 24th Annual Powwow will wrap up the week. The Powwow will be in the Halenbeck Hall Gym. Grand entries at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. with a free meal at 5 p.m. The event is open to the public.
