Archived: LEAF Announces Retired Educator’s Legacy Fund

District 742’s Local Education and Activities Foundation (LEAF) has established a Retired Educators Legacy Fund. The fund will be awarding grants to District 742 academic, arts, activities and athletic programs. As of January 15, 2016 a total of 105 retired educators have donated $26,676 over the past 4 years to create the Legacy Fund.

Legacy Funds can be established with LEAF by any individual or group who donates at least $25,000 during a 5-year period and wishes to direct the grant from their fund to either the general granting cycles or a specific program. Additions can also be made by retired educators or any individual who wishes to make a donation in honor of, or in memory of, a favorite educator.

This is the 9th Legacy Fund that has been established with LEAF by individuals or organizations.
