Lilly Ledbetter Presentation Tuesday Night at SCSU

A national figure on the fight for pay equity for women will share her story at St. Cloud State University Tuesday night. The namesake of the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act of 2009 will give a presentation starting at 7 p.m. in the Atwood Center Ballroom. The Women’s Center is one of the sponsors, and Director Jane Olsen says pay equity is a very real and very damaging problem for women and families, she anticipates an engaging presentation.
The Fair Pay Act was the first legislation President Obama signed into law more than three and a half years ago; it amended the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Ledbetter will be available for a book signing and reception as part of the event, which is also sponsored by the American Association of University Women, who are celebrating 90 years at SCSU this year.
