Archived: Man Arrested After Short Police Chase

A man is in jail after leading police on a short vehicle chase. According to the police report, the vehicle pursuit began on Monday morning when officers located an occupied vehicle driven by, 21-year-old Seth Richard Wallin of St. Cloud, in a parking lot in the 500 block of Highway 10 South.

Wallin had an active felony warrant for 5 degree controlled substance along with other unrelated charges relating to a domestic abuse no contact order. Before officers approached Wallin, Wallin accelerated away from the officer. The officer pursued the vehicle however stopped the pursuit shortly after because of Wallins erratic driving.

According to police, several minutes after the officer stopped the pursuit; police received calls that Wallin had crashed his vehicle into an oak tree in the 1500 block of 2nd Street Southeast. Wallin fled the scene on foot but was located in the area by arriving officers. Officers found a small amount of Methamphetamine in Wallin’s possession.

Wallin was arrested and taken to the Stearns County jail where he is being held for court on his outstanding warrant and the other domestic abuse no contact order charge. Wallin will also be charged in Benton County with felony fleeing police in a motor vehicle and 5th degree possession of a controlled substance.
