Man In Jail After Officers Witness Altercation Involving A Knife

Early this morning St. Cloud Police witnessed an altercation between 36-year-old Jason Peter Bird of Rice and a 57-year-old resident of St. Cloud. The altercation happened at the 400 block of St. Germain Street East.
During this altercation witnesses stated that Bird had attempted to cut the 57-year-old victim with a black utility knife. Bird ran into a nearby building where inside witnesses said they had seen Bird attempt to hide the knife from officers.
Bird was taken to the Benton County Jail where he is currently being held for 2nd degree assault.
