Archived: Melrose Man Injured In Sunday Crash

A Melrose man was injured on Sunday afternoon after being involved in a crash.

According to the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office, a vehicle, driven by 27-year-old Benjamin Gaebel of Melrose, had the left the east side of County Road 11 and crossed over several yards before crashing into a house in the 1000 block of 2nd Street Southeast in Freeport.

No one was in the home at the time of the crash.  The home owner arrived at the scene of the accident during the investigation. Gaebel was the only occupant of the vehicle and was taken to the Melrose Hospital for his injuries.

Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in this crash and the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the cause of the crash.
