Minnesota has opened a new hot-line for people with flu-like symptoms. It’s a 24-hour, 7 day a week number people can call to get information about treatment options. Nurses on the other line may tell people to get some rest, recommend an anti-viral medicine or tell people to visit the doctor.
The Minn-Flu Line is the first in the country to provide statewide reach…and the first where a doctor can prescribe medicine over the phone. The goal of the program is to keep waiting room numbers low and let doctors focus on those who need the most attention.
