Minnesota Pollution Control Agency Issues Air Quality Alert
09/14/2017 - 10:30 AM

Western wildfires have caused an alert in Minnesota over air quality concerns.
St. Cloud State University Meteorology Professor Bob Weisman says the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency has issued an alert for Thursday from noon to 8 p.m. for a drop in air quality. Wildfires from the Northern Rockies, hot temperatures and light winds will make breathing difficult on the hot and humid day.
People are advised to avoid being outside if they have difficulty breathing, and to minimally use anything that involves gasoline, such a mowing the lawn. The worst conditions are expected to be in the afternoon in the Twin Cities area, St. Cloud, and Hinckley.
