Archived: MLK Breakfast Celebration Takes Place Monday At SCSU

Coming up Monday morning, a celebration breakfast and day of service in honor of Dr. Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. will be taking place on the campus of St. Cloud State University.

This will be the fourth year of the gathering, and it’s a time when people can connect with each other and explore ways to promote togetherness with community members.

Civil Rights Icon, Author and Business Executive Myrlie Evers-Williams will be speaking along with Minneapolis-based performers, VocalEssence to help celebrate the life of MLK.

St. Cloud State is teaming with General Mills Foundation, United Negro College Fund and Twin Cities Public Television to broadcast Evers-Williams’ presentation.

The breakfast will take place in the SCSU Atwood Ballroom on the campus of SCSU from 7:30-9:30 a.m. Parking lots will be free Monday on campus, except the 4th Ave. ramp, handicapped spots, 15-minute parking and maintenance-vehicle stalls.
