Archived: New License Plate For Minnesota State Parks And Trails Announced Wednesday By DNR

The votes are in, and a new license plate representing Minnesota’s state parks and trails was announced Wednesday.

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources held a contest for license plate designs in May. More than 80 designs were submitted, and then folks were able to cast votes online between the top three.

The DNR says at least 30,000 votes were cast before the July 4th deadline.

The winning plate will be available this fall at DMV’s across the state to celebrate the 125th anniversary of Minnesota state parks and trails.

The winning design was submitted by Michelle Vesaas of Coon Rapids.
