One Sent To Hospital After Being Punched In Downtown St. Cloud

A St. Cloud man needed stiches after being punched early Sunday morning in front of the Red Carpet Nightclub.
Police say the 24-year-old man was punched in the head by 23-year-old Matthew Robert Blackmore of Albany. Police arrested Blackmore a couple blocks away from the scene. He was taken to the Stearns County Jail and is expected to be charged with 3rd degree assault.
Investigation found Blackmore’s ex-girlfriend was on a date that night with the victim. However, police say they don’t think the victim and suspect had met before.
