Archived: Open House Tonight Will Provide Information About Highway 23 Expansion

A road construction project is set to expand Highway 23 between Paynesville and Richmond, and for folks wanting more information, an open house will be held this evening.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation says the Highway 23 expansion project will add more lanes to this stretch of road.

There are about 15 miles of the highway between Willmar and Interstate 94 that is not four-lanes wide, and the stretch from Paynesville and Richmond is part of it.

The Highway 23 expansion project is part of the Corridors of Commerce program, created by the Legislature in 2013. Funding for the program comes from MnDOT, and aims at fostering economic growth by allowing more cars on major roads.

If you’re looking for more information about the Paynesville-Richmond expansion, you can attend an open house today from 4-6 p.m. at the St. Peter and Paul Gymnasium. The gym is located at 110 Central Ave. N. in Richmond.
