Archived: Paramount Theatre and Visual Arts Lands Grant For New Exhibit Space

The Paramount Theatre and Visual Arts Center has been awarded $110,000 from the McKnight Foundation to develop an exhibition space in downtown St. Cloud. The announcement came Wednesday from Executive Director Tony Goddard and Visual Arts Director Melissa Gohman. The grant funds will be used to open and support an auxiliary exhibition space in the Regency Building. The Regency is located nearly directly across the street from the Paramount Theatre on West St. Germain Street.

The six figure grant given over two years will support the expansion of the Paramount’s public art program and will be called "Gallery St. Germain" and will feature Minnesota artists who have demonstrated a high level of professional achievement.

The Gallery St. Germain will be open during the Downtown Art Crawl this Friday from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m.

The McKnight Foundation is a Minnesota-based family foundation that seeks to improve the quality of life for present and future generations. In 2012, the foundation granted $85 million of its estimated $2 billion in assets.
