Archived: Pedestrian Safety Enforcement Around St. Cloud State University

The Campus Area Police Services and members of the St. Cloud Police Community Crime Impact Team spent part of Tuesday trying to improve and enforce pedestrian safety near St. Cloud State University.

Assistant Chief Jeff Oxton says the special detail involved distributing lanyards and laminated informational cards that have safe walking tips to 150 pedestrians, many of which were students.

Officers also stopped 41 vehicles and issued 15 citations including 5 stop sign violations, 2 crosswalk violations, 3 citations for driving after license revocation as well as violations for expired tabs, no proof of insurance and driving after suspension.
