Police Called To Hunting Accident In Paynesville

On Saturday afternoon, the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office was called to 26536 Copperfield Road in Paynesville for a hunting accident.
According to the police report, the 14-year-old victim was sitting alone in his deer stand and hunting when he accidently shot himself in the foot with his shotgun. The victim possessed a firearms safety certificate and had a few year of hunting and shooting experience. He only sustained minor injuries to his foot.
The Sheriff’s Office reminds people to use caution when handling firearms and always leave the weapon on safe when not in use.
