The St. Cloud Fire Department now believes that a fire that happened earlier this morning is an act of arson.
At around 1:45 a.m. the St. Cloud Fire Department and the St. Cloud Police Department were called to an apartment complex on 27th Street Southeast.
According to the report, the sprinkler system in the apartment complex was set off because of a burning mattress on the second floor which had been left there for several days. Everyone in the complex was evacuated safely and no one was injured.
Residents of the apartment building were able to return to their apartments, with the exception of 14 adjacent units that have been damaged by water.
A reward of up to $2,500 is being offered through the Arson Hot-Line at 1-800-723-2020. You are allowed to remain anonymous.
