Police Called To Watercraft Accident With Injuries On Sunday

At 2 p.m. on Sunday the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office were called to a watercraft accident with injuries on Upper Spunk Lake in Avon Township. When officers arrived they learned that 37-year-old Robert Platz and 34-year-old Pamela Blonigan-Platz both of Lake Elmo were riding together on separate Personal Watercrafts when Robert fell off the Watercraft he was operating and was struck by Pamela.
Robert was pulled from the water and taken to shore by a bystander. He was treated by Gold Cross Ambulance and Avon Rescue on scene and was later taken to the St. Cloud Hospital for treatment.
The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Avon Fire and Rescue, Gold Cross Ambulance and the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office Water Patrol Unit.
