Possible Phone Scam Alert

The St. Cloud Police Department is alerting the public of a possible telephone scam. At least two people have received automated calls claiming to be from the water treatment department. In the call, the automated voice states that St. Cloud city employees are going door to door conducting water testing. Throughout the recorded message, the person who answers the phone is asked several questions which require the input of personal information via the phone keypad.
Please be warned, there is no water quality testing currently being conducted in St. Cloud. Callers should ignore this automated message and not provide any personal information. Anyone with information about this possible scam is asked to call St. Cloud Police at 251-1200.
