Archived: Pure Pleasure Set On Fire Thursday in St. Cloud

A Sauk Rapids man is in the Benton County Jail after allegedly setting the business Pure Pleasure on fire Thursday afternoon.

Assistant Police Chief Jeff Oxton says at approximately 12:30 p.m. a man walked into the business, located in the 600 block of Highway 10 South. The store’s clerk told officers the man had a gas can, poured gas on the inside of the store and then lit the store on fire.

The male clerk was able to leave the business safely. St. Cloud police found 32-year-old Cody Alexander Mann a few blocks from Pure Pleasure and arrested him without incident.

Mann is being held on first degree arson charges at the Benton County Jail. The St. Cloud Fire Department was able to put out the fire and ventilated the building.

The building is considered to be a total loss with the damage estimated to cost $380,000 due to loss of furniture and inventory and because of structural damage.
