Random Act of Arson
09/04/2009 - 10:30 AM
The St. Cloud Fire Department is trying to figure out who started a fire early Friday morning. It happened just after midnight in an alley garage on the 700 block of 12th Avenue South. A neighbor called 911 after spotting a bag of garbage lit on fire against the wall. The west wall was partially engulfed in flames when police and fire officials arrived. Officers were able to extinguish the flames with fire extinguishers.
Damage to the garage is estimated to be about $1,500. This incident appears to be a random act and a reward of up to $2,500 is being offered for any information about this fire. Please call the Arson Hotline at 1-800-722-2020 to help in this investigation.
The Saint Cloud Fire Department reminds you to lock your garage and cars and use security lighting to help deter theft and violence.
