Archived: Randy Schreifels Reminds People To Register To Vote

Stearns County Auditor-Treasurer Randy Schreifels is reminding people that they need to be registered in order to vote. Those who are already registered in their precinct don’t need to bring ID or proof of residency.  Voters may check if they are registered to vote by going to www.sos.state.mn.us

People who need to register can do so at their polling place on Election Day, with proper proof of identification. Some examples of proof include a Minnesota driver’s license or state ID with the voter’s current address on it. Alternatives to those are an authorized photo ID with a utility bill that includes the voter’s name and address on it, due within 30 days of the election.  Addition alternatives to proving residency are listed on www.co.stearns.mn.us, and obtainable by calling the Auditor’s Office at 320-656-3920 or emailing at elections@co.stearns.mn.us
