07/12/2013 - 11:50 AM
In early August, neighborhoods throughout St. Cloud will join in on the 30th Annual National Night Out. National Night Out will involve more than 15,000 communities across the country.
National Night Out is designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness, generate support for local anti-crime efforts, strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships and send a message to criminals letting them know neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
On Tuesday, August 6th residents in neighborhoods throughout St. Cloud are asked to lock their doors, turn on the outside lights and spend the evening with neighbors and police. The event will begin at 6 p.m. and last until 10 p.m.
Residents may register their activity so that St. Cloud Police Officers, Firefighters and other public safety personnel will visit. Residents can register their activity by calling 320- 345-4182. If directed to a voice mail, leave the correct spelling of your first and last name; the exact street address in St. Cloud of your activity; your telephone number for contact; and the start and end times of your activity.
