Archived: Rock N’ Jock Expo In Twin Cities Sunday

Minnesota music and sports fans will have the chance to view classic films with Minnesota connections and shop a variety of music and sports collectibles Sunday at the Rock N’ Jock Expo.

The expo takes place at New Hope Cinema Grill in New Hope. The all-day event features showings of the films Miracle, Purple Rain, Color Me Obsessed: A Film About the Replacements and Slap Shot. There will also be panel discussions featuring people connected to each film. Olympic hockey player, Neil Broten, from Team USA portrayed in the film Miracle will take part in the discussion as well as sign autographs before the film. The expo is organized by sports and music collectors Shaun Hagglund and Tommy Dehler. Hagglund and Dehler have been collecting memorabilia for years. They originally met while working at a sports collectible shop in St. Cloud.

The event begins at 9 a.m. and the first film, Miracle, starts at 12:30 p.m. The complete schedule can be found here.

Admission to the expo is free, however seating is limited and it’s is recommended to pick up a free ticket from either Treehouse Records in Minneapolis or at the Fan HQ store in the Ridgedale Mall. Tickets can also be reserved by calling the Fan HQ store.
