Archived: Rumored St. Cloud Winter Storm May Not Live Up To Bill

The rumors of approaching snow have been heavy these last couple days, but according to SCSU Meteorology Professor Bob Weisman, the bulk of it is staying south of the St. Cloud area.

Two to five inches is projected to hit the Twin Cities.

St. Cloud is far enough north to miss the bulk of the projected snow. Weisman is forecasting a dusting of wet snow with totals up too an inch in St. Cloud.

Weisman says the snow accumulation isn’t the problem associated with this batch of winter weather, it’s the expected timing of the snowfall. The bulk of the wet snow is forecasted to fall during evening rush hour tonight. So St. Cloud commuters traveling to or from Minneapolis may experience some wet and possibly slippery road conditions.
